Our Impact
Raksha Ascent is designed to create more than a memorable week in the mountains. We seek meaningful growth that participants can carry into their relationships, decisions, education, work, and communities.
What Impact Means to Us
We do not define success only by miles walked or summits reached.
The outcomes that matter most are whether participants leave with a stronger sense of self, greater confidence in their ability to face challenges, healthier sources of support, and a clearer belief that they can influence the direction of their lives.
Our intended outcomes include growth in:
Self-worth and confidence
Self-awareness and emotional maturity
Courage and resilience when facing difficulty
Communication, trust, and healthy relationship skills
Leadership and positive contribution to a group
Goal-setting, agency, and belief in future possibilities
Supportive relationships among participants, mentors, and alumnae
How We Learn
Responsible impact requires more than good intentions. As Raksha Ascent develops, we are building a practical approach to learning from each cohort and improving the program over time.
Our evaluation approach includes:
Participant reflections before, during, and after the program
Age-appropriate pre- and post-program assessments
Observations from facilitators, mentors, and local partners
Participant feedback on safety, relevance, and belonging
Follow-up conversations to understand which lessons participants continue using
Stories shared voluntarily and with appropriate consent
We use what we learn to strengthen the curriculum, improve participant support, and ensure that the program remains relevant to the young women and communities it serves.
Progress We Can Share
Raksha Ascent is building the foundation for long-term, measurable impact. As additional cohorts complete the full program, this page will report verified information such as:
Number of participants completing the program
Changes in participant-reported confidence and resilience
Program and trek completion rates
Participant safety and belonging feedback
Continued education, employment, leadership, or community involvement where participants choose to share it
Alumnae returning as mentors, speakers, or program contributors
We are committed to sharing progress honestly—including what works, what needs to improve, and what we learn from our participants and partners.
Participant Stories
Behind every number is an individual story of courage, discovery, friendship, and growth.
Participant stories will be shared only with informed permission and in ways that protect each young woman's privacy, dignity, and safety. We will never treat someone's trauma as marketing material.
The Impact We Hope to Multiply
When a young woman develops confidence, strengthens her relationships, and begins making purposeful choices, the effect does not necessarily end with her. She may encourage a friend, lead within her community, pursue a new opportunity, or become an example for the next cohort.
That is the larger ascent: individual growth becoming shared possibility.
